Primary Maths on the Farm - teacher CPD

The farm provides a wonderful environment in which maths can be used and taught.

The farm provides a wonderful environment in which maths can be used and taught. Jobs and activities observed on a working farm can also provide a meaningful context on which problem solving in the classroom can be based. During this CPD event we will explore just how rich in meaningful curriculum opportunities the farm environment is by:

  • Looking at the key learning opportunities available in the farm environment
  • Making links to key areas of the maths curriculum including number, shape and space, fractions, and measure
  • Looking at practical activities that can be replicated in the classroom
  • Considering how farming can provide a genuine context on which to base reasoning and problem activities
  • Discovering simple ways to develop school / farm links

We don’t have any planned dates for this event right now but we can deliver all our activities on-demand, or our team of experienced educators can create tailored experiences for your specific needs.
