This summer at Staunton Farm has been a nervous one waiting the results from our first year teaching Pearson BTEC First Award in Animal Care.
We needn’t have worried as our students did incredibly well resulting in all 18 passing, 16 with a level 2 qualification and 1 with a level 2 Distinction. 6 of these students have career goals involving animals so this qualification has given them a good insight into the world of animal care.
The course at the Farm involved 3 units based on coursework covering animal handling, animal accommodation and animal behaviour and then an exam based on animal health.
We are so proud of all our students and wish them every success in the future. We are looking forward to the next academic year with our returning students to start their second year and welcoming our new batch of Year 10s!
