Take your class on a virtual visit to a real arable farm and discover the story of bread!
Children will follow the journey of wheat from field to loaf, learning how it grows, how it’s harvested, and how it becomes the bread we eat every day. They’ll also explore how farmers care for the soil and the environment to grow healthy crops sustainably and discover some of the different jobs involved in producing our food.
This 45-minute session links to curriculum topics such as:
Plants and growing
Food and healthy eating
Where food comes from
Caring for the environment and the world of work
Pre-teaching resources and follow-up activities will be shared with registered classes to extend learning before and after the session.
