LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) has announced the appointment of Vicky Robinson as its new Director, Technical.

Vicky joins LEAF at a time of considerable growth and expansion for the organisation as it scales up its reach and influence to deliver its ambitious ten-year strategy. In this pivotal role, she will lead the delivery of LEAF’s technical strategic growth covering the core areas of LEAF Marque certification and sustainable farming knowledge generation and exchange.

Formerly working for Natural England, and its predecessors for the past 22 years, Vicky has extensive experience of agri-environmental schemes and was involved in developing business processes for the Countryside Stewardship scheme. She was also closely involved in the development of the new ELMS and sat on Natural England’s national arable group.

Speaking on her appointment Vicky said:

“I am very excited to be joining LEAF at this time in its 30-year history. I have seen what LEAF has achieved during this time in terms of supporting farmers to farm more sustainability and ensuring they are recognised for their environmental credentials in the marketplace. LEAF has such an important role to play in promoting the values of more nature-based, regenerative farming and supporting farmers at this time of transition for the industry. The next 30 years are full of potential, and I am really looking forward to working with the team in an industry I am passionate about, and am proud to be a part of.”

LEAF Chief Executive, Caroline Drummond MBE added:

“We are absolutely delighted that Vicky has joined our growing team. Her vast knowledge of the sustainability sector and agri-environment schemes combined with her wide experience and knowledge of farmer-to-farmer knowledge exchange at a grass roots level will be invaluable as we embark on our ambitious ten-year strategy to meet the growing need for our services and continue to build on the potential of the organisation.”

Vicky is a Nuffield Farming Scholar and lives near to her family farm in Oxfordshire. She is a Trustee of Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust as well as a local environmental charity, Wild Oxfordshire.
