In-School Sessions
Our team of educational specialists can deliver National Curriculum and exam specification workshops in school, enriching subject, and topic learning.
We provide engaging, curriculum-linked and exam specification activities and experiences for classes at all Key Stages which inspire them about food, farming, the natural environment, and sustainability.
Our LEAF Education Specialists lead and deliver these activities, and we can collaborate with you to create bespoke activities tailored to your school and your students’ needs.
Following an in-school workshop, book a farm visit with us to take the learning beyond the classroom and apply the acquisition of knowledge to an experiential learning opportunity in a real world context on a working farm.
Our In-School Sessions
This is just a sample of the sessions we can offer. Each one can be tailored to the individual requirements of your school, or we can prepare completely bespoke sessions suitable for different settings, needs and requirements. Contact us for a detailed discussion.
Farming Fact Finders
These sessions can be designed to fit various themes or subjects at both primary and secondary level (STEM, Eco Club, Sustainability, Geography, Business Studies etc). During the first session in school pupils will learn about agriculture and food production in relation to the subject area / theme. They will then be set a challenge which they will “investigate” whilst on a farm visit. During the final in school session pupils will “present” their findings to the challenge set during session one.
The farm through the seasons (EYFS–KS1)
Learn about the seasons and the seasonal jobs that happen on the farm. From planting to harvesting, lambing to shearing.
Healthy Eating (KS1-KS2)
Explore the food groups from the Eatwell guide. Find out how one item from each group is produced and take part in a series of practical activities e.g. milling wheat and churning butter.
